This Workgroup focuses on confronting the growing youth mental health crisis with urgent, innovative, and sustainable solutions. We are committed to improving access to care, promoting resilience, and addressing the social, environmental, and systemic factors that drive mental health challenges among young people. Through research, partnerships, and program development, we aim to empower youth, support families and educators, and shape policies that create a healthier future for the next generation.
How the Global Mental Health Taskforce (GMHT) Will Address This:
The GMHT is committed to addressing the youth mental health crisis through a multi-pronged global strategy:
Prevention and Early Intervention: Launching initiatives that promote mental wellness and resilience in youth, particularly through schools, community organizations, and digital platforms.
Innovation: Advancing the use of AI, digital tools, and innovative therapies to reach youth where they are, with interventions that are accessible, stigma-free, and culturally relevant.
Global Collaboration & Partnerships: Working with other mission-based organizations, like Games for Change and the Kindr Foundation, we will provide access to programming that is shown to help improve the mental well-being of young people through immersive, social experiences, and educational programs provided by organizations like the Kindr Foundation.
Mental Health Youth Assessment Study: Convening the world's leading mental health experts and technology innovators to democratize solutions that drive urgent change. In partnership with the Clinicom and Hyka, the Taskforce will distributing 1 Million mental health screenings to individuals in need. The American Psychiatric Association, will analyze and leverages this data for deep analytics, outcome reporting, and systemic improvements.
